Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This policy describes how Tada ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. Tada is an iOS app by Atypical Apps that turns photos you choose into a vertical video, using predefined templates.

The short version

Tada has no accounts, no ads and no advertising identifier, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. Your photos, your captions and the numbers you type are used on your iPhone and are never uploaded. It does send anonymous product analytics — which template was opened, how far you got — and there is a switch in Profile that turns that off.

Your photos never leave your iPhone

The video is built on the device, frame by frame, by the app itself. There is no rendering server, no upload step and no copy of your video anywhere but your phone until you choose to share it.

Tada never asks for access to your photo library. Choosing photos uses Apple's system picker, which runs outside the app: you pick the photos, and only those photos are handed over. The app cannot see the rest of your library, and iOS does not show a permission prompt because there is no permission to grant.

Photos you pick are copied, at a reduced size, into the app's own private storage so a draft survives being closed. Those copies are deleted when the creation that used them is deleted, and "Free up space" in Profile removes any that are no longer referenced. Deleting the app removes all of them.

Camera

You can take a photo instead of choosing one. iOS asks for camera permission the first time, and the photo goes straight into the creation you are working on, stored the same way as any other. Tada does not record video and does not use the microphone.

Saving to your camera roll

When you save a finished video, Tada asks for add-only access to Photos. That is the narrowest permission iOS offers: it allows the app to add a file and nothing else. It cannot read, browse or delete anything in your library with it.

What is stored on your device

None of this is synced or uploaded. There is no account to attach it to.

Templates and sample photos, and how they are updated

Tada ships with its templates built in, so it works fully offline on first launch. On top of that it downloads a public, read-only catalogue file — the list of templates, their colours and text, the caption suggestions, and the sample photos shown on a template's preview screen — so new trends can appear without a new app version.

That request is unauthenticated and carries nothing about you: no identifier, no photo, no creation. It is a plain download of the same file every copy of the app downloads. It is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, and as with any internet request, Google receives the IP address the request comes from as part of delivering it; their handling of that is described in the Firebase privacy documentation. Nothing is ever written back — the app has no permission to write.

Anonymous analytics, and the switch that stops them

Tada uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. The switch is in Profile under Privacy, it ships on, and turning it off stops collection from that moment.

Events describe shape, never content. The complete list of what can be sent:

None of these carry a photo, a caption, a filename, a price you typed or anything you could be recognised by. Firebase assigns an anonymous app instance identifier to your installation, which is what lets a returning user be told apart from a new one; it resets if you reinstall. Firebase also derives an approximate, country-level location from the IP address the request comes from.

There is no ad network and no advertising identifier — the AdSupport framework is not linked, so there is no IDFA and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to ask about. We do not sell or share data with data brokers or advertisers.

Purchases

Tada Pro and the one-off clean export are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, using StoreKit. We never see your payment details. The app asks Apple which purchases this Apple ID owns and uses only that answer; there is no account and no server of ours in the transaction.

We use RevenueCat to report on purchases. It observes the transactions Apple has already completed, so that revenue, renewals and cancellations can be seen in one place. It receives the anonymous identifier it assigns to your installation together with the transaction details Apple provides — it does not receive your name, your email, your payment details or anything you make in the app. What unlocks Pro on your device is read from Apple's own records, not from RevenueCat. Their handling is described in the RevenueCat privacy policy.

Sharing what you make

Exporting writes a video file on your device. Instagram can receive it directly through Apple's handover, and TikTok and YouTube receive it through the standard iOS share sheet. In every case the file goes from your phone to the app you chose, never through us. What happens to it after that is governed by that app's own privacy policy.

Tada never posts anything on your behalf, and it does not connect to any social account.

Permissions

Tada asks for two, both only at the moment they are needed: the camera, if you choose to take a photo, and add-only access to Photos, if you choose to save a video to your camera roll. It does not use the microphone, contacts, location or your calendar, and it never asks to read your photo library.

Children

Tada is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because we collect nothing that identifies a person. The written caption suggestions are self-deprecating humour aimed at adults and teenagers.

Data deletion

Deleting the app removes everything Tada stored on your device and resets the anonymous identifiers Firebase and RevenueCat assigned to the installation. Analytics already sent can be deleted on request by writing to the address below. There is no other data of yours to delete, because there is no account and no server of ours holding any.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. If a change ever means the app starts collecting something new, it will be stated here plainly before it ships.
