This privacy policy describes how Chromacord ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. Chromacord is an iOS app developed by Atypical Apps that turns a photograph into a short piece of music and a shareable video.

Your photographs never leave your phone

Chromacord reads the photograph you choose, measures it, and makes the music on the device itself. The photograph is never uploaded, never sent to a server, and never shared with us or with anyone else. There is no artificial intelligence service involved and no network request is made while a photograph is being turned into music. The app works in airplane mode.

The same is true of the audio and the video Chromacord produces. They are written to your device. They leave it only when you choose to share or save them, through the standard iOS share sheet, at which point iOS and the app you share to take over.

Data stored on your device

• The pressings you have made: the audio, the video and the artwork settings
• Your card colour preference
• How many free exports you have used

The count of free exports is kept in the iOS Keychain so that it survives reinstalling the app. It is a single number, tied to this device only, and it is never synced to iCloud or sent anywhere.

Photo library and camera

Chromacord asks for camera access only when you choose to take a photograph inside the app, and it never opens the camera on its own. Its photo library permission is add-only: the app can save a video you exported to your camera roll, and cannot read your library.

Analytics and crash reporting

Chromacord uses two Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Analytics — records which buttons are tapped, so we can see which parts of the app are used. Examples of what is recorded: a photo was picked, a video export was tapped, the purchase screen was shown. Firebase assigns an anonymous app instance identifier to your installation and derives an approximate country-level location from your IP address.
• Firebase Crashlytics — sends a report when the app crashes, so the fault can be found and fixed. A report contains the crash itself, the device model and the iOS version.

Neither service receives your photographs, your audio, your videos or any content you create. Nothing that describes a photograph, or the sound made from one, is sent. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not sell or share any data with data brokers or advertisers.

Purchases

Chromacord Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app asks Apple whether this Apple ID owns the purchase and stores only the answer. There is no account, no login and no server of ours involved.

No accounts and no server

Chromacord has no user accounts, no sign-in and no backend of our own. We hold no database with your information in it.

Data deletion

Deleting the app removes the pressings, the settings and everything else Chromacord stored on your device. The free-export count in the Keychain is kept deliberately, so that reinstalling does not hand out the free exports a second time; it contains no personal information. Analytics and crash data already sent to Firebase can be deleted on request by writing to the address below.

Children's privacy

Chromacord is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
