Privacy at a Glance

Vimo respects your privacy. All your data—including child profiles, routines, and star balances—stays on your device. We don't collect, sell, or share your personal information.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Vimo, a visual routine support and organization app developed by Atypical Apps ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App") available on the Apple App Store.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. This policy describes:

  • What information we collect (or don't collect)
  • How we use and store that information
  • Your rights and choices
  • How to contact us with questions

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All user-generated content in Vimo is stored locally on your device only. This includes:

  • Child Profiles: Names, avatars/icons, star balances, and any customization preferences
  • Routine Data: Custom routines, activity steps, images, timers, and completion history
  • App Settings: Language preferences, sound settings, theme choices, and notification preferences
  • Usage History: Completion dates and times for star tracking purposes (stored locally)

Important: This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

2.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, access, or store:

  • Personally identifiable information (names, email addresses, phone numbers)
  • Location data
  • Photos or media from your device (beyond what you explicitly add to routines)
  • Contacts or calendar information
  • Health or medical information
  • Financial or payment information (handled by Apple)

2.3 Anonymized Analytics Data (Optional)

With your permission, we may collect limited, anonymized usage analytics to help us improve the App. This includes:

  • Device type and iOS version (e.g., "iPhone 15, iOS 18.2")
  • App version and language setting
  • Feature usage patterns (e.g., "user created a routine," "timer was used")
  • Crash reports and error logs (no personal data included)

This data is:

  • Fully anonymized and cannot be linked to you or your child
  • Aggregated with data from other users
  • Used solely to improve app performance and user experience
  • Optional – you can opt out in device settings (Settings → Privacy → Analytics)

3. How We Use Information

Since all your data stays on your device, we don't "use" it in the traditional sense. The information stored locally is used to:

  • Provide App Functionality: Display routines, track star balances, manage child profiles
  • Personalize Experience: Remember your settings and preferences
  • Calculate Rewards: Track completed activities for star rewards (locally)

Anonymized analytics (if enabled) are used to:

  • Identify and fix bugs or crashes
  • Understand which features are most valuable
  • Improve app performance and stability
  • Guide future feature development

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Apple App Store

Vimo is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple's privacy practices govern any information they collect. If you make an in-app purchase for Vimo Pro, Apple processes the payment and subscription management. We do not receive or store your payment information.

4.2 Analytics Services (If Applicable)

We may use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics for Firebase or similar) to collect anonymized usage data. These services:

  • Only receive aggregated, non-personal data
  • Are configured to respect user privacy
  • Comply with data protection regulations
  • Cannot identify individual users

You can opt out of analytics tracking through your device settings.

4.3 No Advertising or Tracking

Vimo does not use:

  • Third-party advertising networks
  • Cross-site or cross-app tracking
  • Social media plugins or sharing tools
  • Behavioral profiling or targeted advertising

5. Children's Privacy

Vimo is designed to support children's daily routines, but the App is intended for use by parents and caregivers, not directly by children.

5.1 COPPA Compliance

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

5.2 Parental Control

Parents and caregivers are responsible for:

  • Entering child profile information (names, avatars)
  • Managing and supervising app usage
  • Deciding what information to include in profiles

All child-related data stays on your device and is under your control.

5.3 Data Protection

We recommend:

  • Using device passcodes or biometric locks
  • Enabling iOS parental controls if needed
  • Regularly backing up your device (iCloud or iTunes)

6. Data Security

We take data security seriously, even though your data stays on your device:

6.1 Device-Level Security

  • Data is stored using iOS standard secure storage (Core Data, UserDefaults)
  • Benefits from iOS device-level encryption
  • Protected by your device passcode/biometric authentication

6.2 App-Level Security

  • No network transmission of personal data
  • No cloud storage or syncing (unless you use iCloud backup)
  • Regular security updates through App Store

6.3 Your Responsibility

To protect your data:

  • Keep your device password-protected
  • Install iOS updates promptly
  • Only download Vimo from the official Apple App Store
  • Be cautious about who has access to your device

7. Data Retention and Deletion

7.1 How Long We Keep Your Data

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app
  • Deleting a child profile removes all associated data
  • Uninstalling the app removes all local data permanently

7.2 Your Right to Delete

You can delete your data at any time:

  • Individual Items: Delete specific routines or child profiles within the app
  • All Data: Uninstall the app to remove everything
  • Reset: Use "Reset All Data" in app settings (if available)

Note: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone unless you have an iCloud or iTunes backup.

7.3 Anonymized Analytics

Anonymized analytics data (if collected) may be retained for up to 24 months for trend analysis and improvements. This data cannot be linked back to you.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Access and Control

You have complete control over your data because it's stored on your device. You can:

  • View all data within the app
  • Edit or update any information
  • Delete specific items or all data

8.2 Analytics Opt-Out

To disable anonymized analytics:

  • Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements

9. International Users

Vimo is available worldwide. If you are located outside the United States:

  • Your data stays on your device in your country
  • We comply with applicable international privacy laws (GDPR, etc.)
  • Anonymized analytics may be processed in the United States

9.1 GDPR Rights (EU/UK Users)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR:

  • Right to Access: Request information about data we hold (minimal in our case)
  • Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data (edit directly in app)
  • Right to Erasure: Delete your data (uninstall app)
  • Right to Portability: Export your data (via device backup)
  • Right to Object: Opt out of analytics (device settings)

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes in our practices
  • New app features
  • Legal or regulatory requirements

When we make changes:

  • We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
  • We'll notify you via in-app message (for material changes)
  • Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the new policy

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

11. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the EU/UK, our legal basis for processing limited data is:

  • Contractual Necessity: To provide the app's core functionality
  • Legitimate Interest: To improve app performance (anonymized analytics)
  • Consent: When you opt in to optional features or analytics

12. No Medical or Therapeutic Claims

Important Disclaimer: Vimo is a routine organization tool, not a medical or therapeutic device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or manage any medical condition or disability. Always consult with qualified healthcare professionals for medical, therapeutic, or educational needs.
